Mufti Sheikh Rezaul Karim founded Umaahatul Mominen Women Orphanage Complex in early 1997 and currently serve as Founder President of the facility. In his speech “The dream of the orphanage began in 1998. While standing on my own village, I was searching a suitable field to fulfill my dream; I saw a vision of a building with lots of children running in and out. I was so overcome with feelings of warmth and love, unlike anything I had ever experienced before. I envisioned a home for our family and orphaned children in my own town. In 5 February 1999, I started the construction of seven storied building. Over the next six years, while living in Dhaka, we continued construction as funds became available. After five year later, on September 24, 2005, journey had started with few orphans, abandoned and indigent childrens. Umaahatul Mominen Women Orphanage Complex (UMWO) had begun.”
Umaahatul Mominen Women Orphanage endeavors to provide a loving home, spiritual encouragement, as well as education opportunities for all the children (female) in residence. All residents have living either unwilling or unable to provide care for them, which prevent them from being legally adopted. Therefore, most children who come to UMWO, regardless of age, will most likely continue in residence until they completed their University degrees even until their marriage. The orphanage thus becomes a permanent home for its residents. UMWO relies completely on the freewill offerings and generosity of donors from around the world. Please consider becoming one of our regular supporters in this endeavor. Full, half or partial sponsorships of the children are needed.
Again, thank you for all you do for our kids. You are a part of their lives too.
